COMEDY @19:31 (ish)

Our regular comedy night is back and we're having a Back to School special! To celebrate having made it through the holidays we're bringing you a night jam packed with laughter at Nelson's Comedy Club at 1931, and with every ticket bought by 10th September you get a pint of delicious Coors on us. 

So who have we got coming? 

Our headline act is the superb David Eagle. In 2024 David brought his debut stand up show, The Eagle Is Candid, to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It won the Spirit Of The Fringe Award (previously won by Stewart Lee, Adam Hills, Ross Noble, League Of Gentlemen, Flight of the Conchords and Phil Nichol) and was shortlisted for Best Show at the ISH Comedy Awards. Earlier that year the show won Best Variety Show at Leicester Comedy Festival.

Opening the show is Oliver Bowler. Hailing from the mean cobbles of Bolton, Oliver is a talented rising star of the UK comedy scene. A natural born storyteller, heis one of the most exciting stand-ups to hit the circuit in recent years and is marked as one to watch after winning over audiences across the UK, drawing comparisons with Peter Kay and Lee Evans. 

Our middle act is Mel Judson, who hails from Bradford and was crowned "Queen of Comedy" earlier this year. Mel's humour is a delicious blend of deadpan delivery and smut. 

Finally, we have a guest host this month. Chris Lumb is one of the best MCs in the north of England, having twice been nominated in the Best MC category at the Yorkshire Comedy Awards. He's also one half of the superb Halls of Ridiculous, who were our headline act back in March.
